For a bite to eat, I recommend sticking with the street tacos.  <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/el-huequito-m%C3%A9xico-4\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">El Huequito<\/a> and Cocuyos are both delicious and affordable options. <\/p><p class=\"\"><strong>Insider Tip:<\/strong> I would avoid eating at the restaurants above the silver and gold shops in the city center. You\u2019ll know to run the other way when you hear waiters yelling from the rooftop to get you to eat at their restaurant. Don\u2019t do it. You are guaranteed to get ripped off!<\/p><p class=\"\">I\u2019m sad to say this happened to us, and we ended up paying close to $200 for a meal that should\u2019ve been $30! <\/p><div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-mexico-city-itinerary-day-2\">Mexico City Itinerary: Day 2<\/h2><div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-visit-palacio-de-bellas-artes-\">Visit Palacio de Bellas Artes <\/h3><p class=\"\">Start day two with the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Palace of Fine Arts. Located near Z\u00f3calo Plaza, the Palacio de Bellas Artes is one of Mexico City\u2019s important cultural centers. The Palacio is filled with exquisite exhibitions, murals, sculptures, and paintings by famous Mexican artists. <\/p><p class=\"\">Operas, performances, and literature events are also held there regularly; check their official <a href=\"https:\/\/palacio.inba.gob.mx\/\">website<\/a> for details about show times. <\/p><p class=\"\">The Palacio is open Tuesday- Sunday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Barrio Chino is located on two blocks of Dolores Street, filled with various restaurants to pick from and Chinese-themed stores. <\/p><p class=\"\">This area is closed to traffic, so pedestrians can roam freely down the streets. We ate at <a href=\"https:\/\/hongking.com.mx\/?fbclid=IwAR1FokBrLQ_2DPQXo8nIkc1zj84f3he9-KcZwnCuqd2LN15ygDQVq_kfez4\">Hong King restaurant<\/a>, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and affordable! If you have time, grab lunch at one of the park\u2019s eateries. <\/p><div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"11-go-to-a-lucha-libre-wrestling-match\">Go to a Lucha Libre Wrestling Match<\/h3><p class=\"\">Start your evening with some fun by seeing the famous Lucha Libre professional wrestling performance. It\u2019s one of the best ways to learn about the culture and witness the country\u2019s most popular sports. Lucha Libre (free fight) is a choreographed show where professional wrestlers with colorful masks perform all types of bodyslams and wipeouts. <\/p><p class=\"\">They really know how to excite the crowd, and it\u2019s a real treat. The best night to go is on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The food and drinks were nothing short of amazing! <\/p><p class=\"\">The service was fantastic; we didn\u2019t have a reservation, but they accommodated us all the same. I highly recommend having a meal at Galanga Thai House. To guarantee your spot, make a reservation on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opentable.com\/r\/galanga-thai-house-ciudad-de-mexico\">OpenTable<\/a>. This area is known for its cobbled streets, colorful buildings, artisan markets, and colonial architecture. <\/p><p class=\"\">While there, check out the old churches, Jardin Centenario, and stop at Plaza Hidalgo. If you\u2019re visiting on a Saturday or Sunday, check out the crafts at artisan markets like Bazar Artensal Mexicano or Casa de Luna.  <\/p><p class=\"\">For delicious and authentic food, visit the Mercado de Coyoac\u00e1n on Ignacio Allende s\/n. You\u2019ll tour 10 rooms filled with Frida and Diego\u2019s personal collections of art, photographs, letters, pre-Hispanic artifacts, and more.  <\/p><p class=\"\">You\u2019ll want to get tickets in advance as La Casa Azul is the most visited place in Coyoac\u00e1n. Tickets were sold out the day I planned to visit, so I booked this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viator.com\/tours\/Mexico-City\/Coyoacan-and-Xochimilco-including-the-Frida-Kahlo-Museum\/d628-5232FRIDA?pid=P00077063&uid=U00238959&mcid=58086\">tour<\/a>, which included my entrance ticket. <\/p><div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"16-eat-at-contramar\">Eat At Contramar<\/h3><p class=\"\">Once you\u2019re back in Mexico City, treat yourself to a fantastic seafood meal at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.contramar.com.mx\/\">Contramar<\/a>. This was one of my favorite meals while in CDMX. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and everything was cooked to perfection. <\/p><p class=\"\">We didn\u2019t have reservations and sat at the bar; it worked out because our bartender was amazing! We ordered the Pescado a la Talla, which came with tortillas for making our own tacos, and this mouthwatering dish was out of this world! The bartender offered us several mezcal shots on the house, which we couldn\u2019t refuse. I tried all three tacos, but the res was my favorite!
